Restoring Vault from a Backup

Restore a vault from a backup using the CLI and API interfaces.

1. Open the navigation menu, click Identity & Security, and then click Vault.
2. Under List Scope, select a compartment that you want to work in. The compartment must match the compartment of the reference vault at the time of backup.
3. On the Vault page, click Restore Vault.
4. In the Restore Vault page, choose a backup source. You can import from an Existing Object Storage Bucket that you have access or a pre-authenticated Object Storage URL. You can also Upload a File from your local machine or a mapped network location.
5. Do one of the following, depending on what you chose in the previous step:
  
  Choose a bucket from the drop-down menu. If needed, you can change the compartment to find a bucket in a different compartment. Then, specify the Backup Name. Avoid entering confidential information.
  
  Click Object Storage URL, and then provide a pre-authenticated URL. Include the backup name.
  
  In Choose a file, drag and drop a file or, to browse for a file, click select one.
6. When you are finished, click Restore Vault.
This task cannot be performed using the CLI.
