Updating a key from a Backup
Updating a key from a Back up using the CLI interface.
Using the Console
- Open the navigation menu, click Identity & Security, and then click Vault.
- Under List Scope, in the Compartment list, click the name of the compartment of the vault that contains the key that you want to update from a backup.
- From the list of vaults in the compartment, click the name of the vault that contains the key.
- Click Master Encryption Keys, click the key name, and then click Update Key from Backup. (If needed, change the list scope to the compartment of the key, if the key is in a different compartment from the vault.)
- Choose a source. You can import a backup from an Existing Object Storage Bucket that you have access to or a pre-authenticated Object Storage URL. You can also Upload a File from your computer or a mapped network location.

Do one of the following, depending on what you chose in the previous step:
- Choose a bucket from the drop-down menu. If needed, you can change the compartment to find a bucket in a different compartment. Then, specify the Backup Name. Avoid entering confidential information.
- Click Object Storage URL, and then provide a pre-authenticated URL. Include the backup name.
- When you are finished, click Update Key.
