DF Operation and Utilization Values Do Not Reflect Recent File Deletions
You recently deleted files from the system to reclaim space. Running the df
command on a mounted file system does not reflect these updates and report correct usage.
The Console reports a Utilization value for the file system that is incorrect. Running the du
command shows the correct usage.
Cause: Snapshots, clones, or both, are present on the file system.
Solution: Snapshots and clones contribute to metered usage. Deleted files are still referenced by snapshots, clones, and snapshots on clones. To fully reclaim space, delete the snapshots and delete snapshots and files from clones. See Metering and Service Cost and Using DF and DU Commands for more information.
