Console Home Page
The Oracle Cloud Console provides a single interface to manage all OCI cloud services.
When you sign in to the Console, you see the Console's home page. The home page has a modular design that you can customize to reflect your unique environment. Console features are available in widgets that you can position on the home page based on your preference or hide from view. The gallery of home page widgets provides a personalized view into your tenancy, enabling you to quickly find important information and insights, and take appropriate action.
Customizing the Console Home Page
Customize and personalize the home page by choosing and arranging the widgets to meet your needs.
To choose which widgets you want on the home page:
- In the top-right corner of the home page, select Customize.

In the Customize your Home page panel, switch the toggle on or off to show or hide a widget.
- The What's new widget is always switched on to keep you updated with OCI news and release information.
- Some widgets require appropriate permissions or policies. If you don't have the required permissions or policies in place, the widget is switched off by default. For more information about individual widgets, see the next section.
- Select Save.
You can also use the actions menu on a widget to hide that widget. Use the customize panel to show it again later, or to restore the default layout of the home page.
To organize the widgets that you choose to display on the home page, select the top of the widget and drag it to the location that you want.
Home Page Widgets
The home page widgets provide a personalized view into your cloud tenancy.
Some widgets require that you have appropriate permissions or policies in place to view their details.
- Resources
- View and access the most recent resources viewed or created in the tenancy.
- My recently viewed lists the resources that you accessed most recently in the region that you're signed in to. Select View all resources to open Resource Explorer and view all the resources in the tenancy.
- Recently created lists the resources that were created most recently by tenancy users in the region that you're signed in to. Select View all resources to open Resource Explorer and view all the resources in the tenancy.
- Resource collections lists the frequent searches for resources that were saved most recently as resource collections in the tenancy. Select View all resource collections to open Resource Explorer and view all resource collections in the tenancy. If no collections are created yet, select Create resource collection to get started.
Select Resource Explorer to query resources, search services, and search documentation.
- Build
- Access the common tasks that you can complete in the OCI tenancy, such as creating a compute instance or setting up a virtual network. Selecting a task takes you directly to the task interface in the appropriate OCI service. Select Show all to view a complete list of common tasks.
- Services
- Access your most recently visited services, or pin the services that you use most often.
- Recently visited lists the services that you have most recently accessed. Select the pin icon next to a service to move it to the Pinned column.
- Pinned lists the services that you have pinned. Services are listed here until you unpin them.
- Service spotlight
- Explore OCI services recommended for you. These recommendations are based on the profile that you select when you first sign in to the Console. Use the Update link to view and edit profile details.
- What's new
- Access the latest OCI release notes. Select each link to read details about that release, or select Release notes to access the release notes for all OCI services. Select OCI blog to read blog posts about major service launches and features.
- Getting started

Learn about OCI and jumpstart your OCI journey. Courses, tutorials, workshops, and service guides are recommended based on the profile that you select when you first sign in to the Console. Use the Update link to view and edit profile details. Select OCI documentation to go to the documentation home page for all OCI services.
- Learn
- Continue to increase your OCI knowledge. These recommendations are based on the profile that you select when you first sign in to the Console. Use the Update link to view and edit profile details. Select OCI Training and certification to view a complete list of offerings to help you develop your OCI skills.
- Quickstarts
- Access complete solutions that you can run quickly in the tenancy. Quickstarts let you try different use cases and products without creating all the steps for deploying and configuring individual resources yourself. Select a link to deploy a quickstart or select Show all to view all available deployments. Select View my deployments to view the quickstart solutions that you've deployed in the tenancy.
- Recommendations
- View recommendations from Cloud Advisor to lower costs, improve performance, and optimize availability. View recommendations from Cloud Guard to improve security in your tenancy. Select an option to view the recommendations provided, or select All recommendations to view all the recommendations suggested by Cloud Advisor. You must have the correct permissions or policies in place to view this information. For more information, see IAM policies for Cloud Advisor and IAM policies for Cloud Guard.
- Cost analysis
- Review costs and balance information for all your subscriptions. Go directly to Cost Analysis to view charts and download tabular reports of aggregated cost data on your Oracle Cloud Infrastructure consumption, or upgrade to a paid account during your free trial. You must have the correct permissions or policies in place to view this information. For more information, see IAM Policies.
- Alarms
- Monitor resources for which you have created alarms. Select Create alarm to monitor a resource using metrics. You must have the correct permissions or policies in place to view this information. For more information, see IAM Policies.
- Announcements
- Stay up-to-date with operational events that impact service status for the OCI tenancy. By default, announcements are listed for all services. Select Announcements to view all available announcements for the OCI tenancy. You must have the correct permissions or policies in place to view this information. For more information, see IAM policy to view announcements and IAM policy to view announcement summaries.
- User Management
- Perform common user management tasks.
- Select Create user to open a Create user panel. Select the compartment and domain where you want to create the user and click Continue. You can now create a user in the Identity service.
- Select Create group to open a Create group panel. Select the compartment and domain where you want to create the group and click Continue. You can now create a group in the Identity service.
- Select Configure multifactor authentication to open a Configure multifactor authentication group panel. Select the compartment and domain where you want to configure MFA authentication and click Continue. You can now configure MFA security in the Identity service.
- Select Audit events to explore and analyze events in the Logging service.
- Select Identity to navigate to the Identity service.
