Creating and Exporting a Custom Image to RED

Create and export a custom image to Roving Edge Devices.

  1. After launching the RED enabled listing, create a compute instance. For more information about creating a compute instance, see Creating an Instance.
  2. On the instance details page, when the status changes from Provisioning to Running, from More actions, select Create custom image.
  3. In the Create custom image page, provide the following details:
    • Select the name of the compartment.
    • Enter a name for your custom image.
  4. Click Create custom image. You are redirected to the Custom image details page.
  5. Click Export.
  6. On the Export image page, select the radio button for Export to an Object Storage bucket and configure the following details:
    1. Bucket in <compartment name>: Name of the bucket in the compartment.
    2. Image name: Name of the custom image.
    3. Image format: Format of the custom image. Ensure that the custom image is a QCOW2 image with OCI metadata.
  7. Click Export image.
