Creating an Environment-Type Fleet

• 1. Open the navigation menu and click Observability & Management. Under Fleet Application Management, click Fleets.
  2. On the Fleets list page, click Create fleet.
  3. Enter a unique name and description for the fleet. For the name, only alphanumeric characters are supported. Avoid entering confidential information.
  4. Under Fleet type, select Environment.
  5. To associate a product suite with fleet resources, select a product stack from the Product stack list, for example, Oracle WebLogic Server and Java, or Oracle Fusion Middleware.
  6. Select an environment to use from Environment type.
  7. (Optional) Click Add resources and then enter details in the Add resources dialog box.
     For instructions, see step 3 in Adding Resources to a Fleet Manually using the Console.

     The resources that you select and their resource types appear under Add resources.

  8. To add credentials specific to the resources you added in the previous step, click Add resource credentials.
     For instructions, see step 10 in Adding resource credentials.
  9. (Optional) To automatically confirm target resources after fleet discovery, select Enable auto confirm of targets under Auto confirm.

     If discovery fails and a system error occurs, you can manually confirm the targets after discovery. See Confirming Targets.
  10. To enter Tagging information for the fleet, click Show tagging options. Then, select a tag namespace and tag key, and enter a tag value. Add more tags as needed. For more information about Tagging, see Resource Tags.
  11. Click Next.
  12. (Optional) To get notified when the fleet status changes, on the Notifications page, enter the following information:
      • Compartment: Select the compartment that contains the resources to be added to the fleet.
      • Topic: Select a topic (Notifications)  that you created in the Notifications service. For information about managing Notifications topics, see Managing Topics.
      • Notification preferences: Select when you want to be notified about a change.
  13. Click Next.
  14. On the Review page, verify the fleet information that you have provided.
  15. To create an environment-type fleet and list it on the Fleets list page, click Submit.

• Use the oci fleet-apps-management fleet create command and required parameters to create an environment-type fleet:

  oci fleet-apps-management fleet create [OPTIONS]
