Retrying Target Discovery

Retry discovery of targets in Fleet Application Management.

  • The following steps show how to retry discovery from the fleet details page. You can also retry discovery from the fleet details page by selecting Actions and then selecting Retry discovery.
    1. On the Fleets list page, select the fleet that you want to work with. If you need help finding the list page or the fleet, see Listing Fleets.

      The fleet status can be found on the fleet's list table or fleet details page. Continue retrying the discovery process if the status details appear to indicate that software discovery failed.

      At the top of the fleet details page, you can view the fleet state that Fleet Application Management updates in real time. Verify the resource discovery status in the fleet details page and when the discovery status appears as Software discovery failed, you can retry the discovery process.

    2. Select Retry discovery from the Actions menu next to the Resource discovery status under General information or the fleet details page banner.
      The resource discovery process progresses again, and if discovery is successful, you can confirm the target resources. See Confirming Targets.

  • Use the oci fleet-apps-management fleet request-target-discovery command and required parameters to retry discovery of targets:

    oci fleet-apps-management fleet request-target-discovery --fleet-id <fleet_OCID> [OPTIONS]

  • Run the RequestTargetDiscovery operation to retry discovery of targets.
