Performance Tiers

OCI Database with PostgreSQL uses database optimized storage that scales independently of Compute resources. When configuring a database system, select a performance tier for storage.

The performance tier provides guaranteed performance in terms of IOPS (input/output operations per second), irrespective of the database size. For example, 300K IOPS provides a storage performance of up to 300,000 IOPS.

Choose from the following performance tiers when creating or updating a database:

  • 75,000 IOPS
  • 150,000 IOPS
  • 225,000 IOPS
  • 300,000 IOPS
  • 375,000 IOPS
  • 450,000 IOPS
  • 525,000 IOPS
  • 600,000 IOPS
  • 675,000 IOPS
  • 750,000 IOPS
Note

Performance tiers of 375,000 IOPS or more are available for shapes with at least 16 OCPUs. For more information, see Supported Shapes.
