Search with OpenSearch Supported Versions

Learn about the different Search with OpenSearch release versions and what's included in each before you upgrade.

Search with OpenSearch supports the following concurrent versions: 2.11.0, 2.15.0, 2.18.0, 2.19.1 and 3.2.0.

Each type of release has a build number:

  • Major: The first number indicates a major release. OpenSearch releases new major versions only when there's a critical mass of breaking changes, such as changes that are incompatible with existing APIs.
  • Minor: The second number indicates the minor version. Minor versions don't introduce breaking changes.
  • Patch: The third number indicates the patch. All CVE issues are addressed in monthly patching.

The following table identifies the versions supported, along with the support stage schedule for each version. The timeline mentioned is inherited from the open source documentation of OpenSearch.
