Test 19c Workloads on an Oracle AI Database 26ai Clone with Capture-Replay

You can use Oracle Real Application Testing to capture a workload from Autonomous AI Database on Oracle Database 19c and replay on a refreshable clone on Oracle AI Database 26ai.

This Capture-Replay option is especially useful when you want test your workloads running on Oracle Database 19c before you upgrade to Oracle AI Database 26ai.

Follow these steps to replay your workloads on a different database version:

  1. (Optional) Subscribe to Information Events to be Notified of Capture and Replay Details

  2. Capture your workloads on an Autonomous AI Database with Oracle Database 19c. See Capture a Workload on an Autonomous AI Database Instance for more information.

  3. Run DBMS_CLOUD_ADMIN.FINISH_WORKLOAD_CAPTURE to complete the workload capture on your Oracle Database 19c sourceAutonomous AI Database instance.

  4. Prepare your target Oracle AI Database 26ai Refreshable Clone. See Prepare a Refreshable Clone for Workload Replay for more information.

  5. After you complete the workload capture and prepare the Oracle AI Database 26ai target Refreshable Clone, replay the workload on the target. See Replay a Workload on an Autonomous AI Database Instance for more information.
