Providing Authentication in the REST Task

By default, no authentication is needed to execute the REST endpoint in a REST task.

You can, however, use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure resource principal to authenticate an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure API endpoint in a REST task.

You must set up dynamic groups and policies in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Identity and Access Management (IAM) with Identity Domains before you can use OCI resource principal for authentication. See Authentication.

To specify the authentication to use for a REST task:

  1. On the Tasks page of a project or folder, find the task that you want to edit. If you need help finding the Tasks page in a project or folder, see Listing Tasks.
  2. From the Actions menu (Actions menu) of the task, select View details.
  3. In the Authentication section of the REST task page, select Edit.
  4. From the Authentication menu, select OCI resource principal.
  5. Under Authentication source, select Workspace or Application.
  6. Select Configure.
