Create Alarms on Metric Extensions

You can create alarm rules to trigger alarms when metric values from your Metric Extensions cross thresholds.

To create alarms on Metric Extensions, you can follow the general workflow to create an alarm rule for built-in metrics for your Managed Databases. The main difference is in the Metric description section in the Create Alarm panel.

For information on how to create an alarm, see Creating a Basic Alarm. In addition, refer to the information below on the values that must be specified in the Metric description section:

  • Compartment: Select the compartment of the Managed Database for which the Metric Extension was enabled.
  • Metric namespace: Select oracle_metric_extensions_appmgmt.
  • Resource group: Select the appropriate database resource type. For example, oracle_cdb.

In the Create Alarm panel, specify the remaining details and click Save alarm.

Note that on creating an alarm, you can also view it in the Alarm definitions section on the Managed database details page. For information, see Set Up Alarm Definitions.
