Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Documentation

Prerequisites

To create a Database Tools MCP Server, you need the following:

  • An Oracle AI Database and a Database Tools connection already created for that database. See Creating a Connection for instructions on how to create a connection.
  • An Oracle Cloud Infrastructure vault with an encryption key, for storing database connection secrets, such as passwords and certificates. See the Vault Service documentation for more information.
  • An IAM Identity Domain where you have permission to manage MCP resources. See IAM with Identity Domains for more information.
  • Required permissions to create and manage Database Tools MCP Servers, Toolsets, and Connections in the target compartment. See Database Tools MCP Servers for information about policies for MCP Server.
