Moving a Profile to Another Compartment

Move a profile to another compartment in OS Management Hub. This can be helpful when trying to restrict access to resources by placing them in a specific compartment.

Note

You can't move service-provided or default profiles from the root compartment.

For best practices when moving compartments, see Compartment Considerations.

    1. On the Profiles list page, select the name of the profile. If you need help finding the list page, see Listing Profiles.
    2. On the profiles details page, select Move resource.
    3. Select the Destination compartment to move the profile to.
    4. Select Move resource.

  • Use the oci os-management-hub profile change-compartment command and required parameters to move the profile to another compartment within the same tenancy.

    oci os-management-hub profile change-compartment --profile-id ocid --compartment-id ocid[OPTIONS]
