Independently manage instances in a cluster network by using compute clusters
- Services: Compute
- Release Date: March 28, 2023
- API Versions Affected: 20160918
A new type of cluster network, called a compute cluster, lets you independently manage instances in a cluster network. A compute cluster is an empty remote direct memory access (RDMA) network group. After the RDMA group is created, you can add instances to the group, or delete instances from the group. You can also have different types of instances in a compute cluster.
In contrast, a cluster network with instance pools provides predictable capacity for a specific number of identical instances that are managed as a group.
