Setting Availability Schedules
Set the availability schedule for a desktop pool to reduce resource usage and minimize costs.
The administrator can set two types of schedules when creating a desktop pool:
-
Absolute Schedule
Sets the lifetime of the desktop pool with a designated start and stop time. This could be used for a short, live event, such as the duration of a show.
To set an absolute schedule, use the Pool Start Time and Pool Stop Time desktop pool parameters.
Note
These parameters are optional and can be edited for an existing desktop pool. -
Periodic Schedule
Sets a reoccurring schedule to control access to the desktop pool and resources. This could be used to reduce resource usage by stopping the desktop pool during non-working hours. For example, Monday through Friday, start the desktop pool at 7am and stop it at 6pm.
To set a periodic schedule, use the Regular Schedule Start Time and Regular Schedule Stop Time desktop pool parameters as part of Desktop management policy.
Note
These parameters are optional and can be edited for an existing desktop pool.
To modify a schedule, see Editing a Desktop Pool.
