Diagnostics & Management Feature Support Matrix for Oracle Databases
This section provides the Database Management Diagnostics & Management feature support matrix for Oracle Databases.
For detailed information on each of these features, see Monitor and Manage a Specific Managed Database and Performance Hub Features and Reports.
For External Databases and Oracle Cloud Databases version 11.2.0.4 and later, you can use Diagnostics & Management features in Database Management to monitor and manage the primary and standby databases that are a part of an Oracle Data Guard configuration. You can use all the features listed in the table below for primary databases, however, for standby databases, you can only perform read-only tasks if the database is in read-only mode. Also, note that Database Management currently does not support the monitoring of Data Guard per Pluggable Database (DGPDB).
Here are some notes pertaining to the availability of the Diagnostics & Monitoring features for Autonomous Databases:
- If you enabled Diagnostics & Management for Autonomous Databases in Database Management or on the Autonomous Database details page prior to September 2024, some of the Diagnostics & Management features listed in the following table may not be available for Autonomous Databases. To enable and use these features for Autonomous Databases, you must provide the connection information in the Edit Database Management panel. For more information, see Enable Diagnostics & Management for Autonomous Databases.
- It's recommended that you set the Advanced diagnostics preferred
credential to use the
ADMIN
user, or set the session credential to use theADMIN
user. This is because some of the advanced monitoring and management features like Performance Hub require additional privileges, which theADBSNMP
user does not have. - Performance Hub for Autonomous Databases can also be accessed from
the Autonomous Database details page, however, the following advanced
features are only available when Database Management is
enabled and Performance Hub is accessed from the Managed database
details page in Database Management:
- Top Activity Lite
- Activity Session History (ASH) report
- Instance-level AWR report
- On-demand Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM) task runs
- SQL tuning
