Manage Deployment Rule Set

Use this manage action to distribute or remove the Deployment Rule Set (DRS) file that you uploaded using the action described in Deployment Rule Set. To perform this manage action, enable the Java Runtime Lifecycle Management advanced feature for your fleet.

You manage the deployment rule set file using one of the following methods:
  • In the Fleet details panel, click More actions > Manage Deployment Rule Set.
  • In the Resources section in the fleet details page, click Managed instances. Select the managed instances for which you need to perform the task. Click Actions and then Manage Deployment Rule Set.
  • In the Managed instances table, select a managed instance, and then click Manage Deployment Rule Set.

Distribute deployment rule set

  1. Select Distribute DRS in the Manage Deployment Rule Set panel.
    Note

    A DRS file needs to be uploaded in the Deployment Rule Set section in Lifecycle Management Settings before it can be distributed using this action.
  2. Click Submit.
A work request is created to distribute the DRS file to the DRS directory, which is located in the following locations:
  • On Windows platforms in C:\<Windows-directory>\Sun\Java\Deployment directory, for example, C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment
  • On Linux platforms in the /etc/.java/deployment directory
  • On macOS platforms in the /Library/Application Support/Oracle/Java/Deployment directory

If a DRS file already exists in this directory, this action will replace the existing file.

Remove deployment rule set

  1. Select Remove DRS in the Manage Deployment Rule Set panel.
  2. Click Submit.

A work request is created to remove the DRS file, if present, from the DRS directory.
