Roving Edge Infrastructure Device Software Version Management

Describes how to manage the system software, including software updates and rollbacks, on your Roving Edge Infrastructure devices in both a connected (online) and disconnected (offline) state.

You can perform the following Roving Edge Infrastructure device software version management tasks:

You are responsible for regularly checking your Roving Edge Infrastructure device system software and updating the software as needed.

Identifying the Device Software Version

You can identify the Roving Edge Device software version using the Device Console or the Serial Console.

Using the Device Console

  1. Sign in to the Device Console.

  2. In the navigation menu, click Node Management, then click Nodes.

    The version is displayed in the Version column.

Using the Serial Console

Prerequisites

You must have a controlling host, such as a laptop connected to the device serial port (see Cable the Roving Edge Device) and have terminal emulation configured (see Set Up Terminal Emulation).

For information about the serial console menu, see Operating the Serial Console.

  1. In your terminal emulation utility, with the main menu displayed, select 4) Show Status.

    The version is listed in the device status output:
