Managing Inventory

In Oracle Cloud Migrations, an inventory contains a collection of assets and associated metadata. This data is collected during external asset discovery and you can browse the discovered assets and start planning the migration process.

Before you begin managing your inventory, ensure that you complete the following tasks:

Required IAM Policies

You can create policies to allow user groups to access the inventory resources.

View the verb to permission mapping for inventory and inventory assets to decide which verb meets the access requirements. For example, inspect allows you to view the list of all the inventory, inventory assets in a compartment and read allows you to view the inventory, inventory assets.

For details about writing policies for Oracle Cloud Migrations, see Oracle Cloud Migrations IAM Policies. For users to access the Oracle Cloud Migrations resources, see user policies. For using the Oracle Cloud Migrations service, see service policies.
