Fleet Compliance in Fleet Application Management
Fleet Application Management discovers software targets, installs patches, and evaluates compliance based on available patches.
If at least one target in a resource isn't compliant, the resource status is noncompliant. Similarly, if at least one resource isn't compliant, the entire fleet is noncompliant.
Compliance for fleet or resource management is reported based on the findings related to the underlying products. The compliance evaluation depends on the flexibility in managing products within the system. Compliance assessment relies on either:
- Service support in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Compliance policies
Some products such as Oracle Linux, Microsoft Windows, and specific versions of Oracle Database, OS Management, or OS Management Hub and Database Management handle the patching needs. Compliance is assessed based on the availability of recommended patches, as reported by these services at any time. In these cases, compliance cannot be governed through standard compliance policies, as it's a fundamental aspect of the system's integrity.
For other products, when a compliance policy includes specific compliance rules, the compliance report reflects the product's adherence to these rules with the installed and recommended patches after a discovery process.
