Updating Security Certificate

You can update the security certificate of a DB system. You can either let HeatWave Service define the security certificate or bring your own security certificate to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Updating the security certificate restarts the DB system.

Use one of the following method to update the security certificate of a DB system:

Using the Console

Use the Console to update the security certificate of the DB system.

This task requires the following
Do the following to update the security certificate of the DB system.
  1. On the DB systems list page, select the DB system that you want to work with. If you need help finding the list page or the DB system, see Listing DB Systems - Using the Console.

    The details page opens and displays information about the DB system.

  2. Select the Connections tab.
  3. Select Edit in the Security certificate field.
  4. Update the information:
    • Service defined: Let HeatWave Service define the security certificate.
    • User defined: Bring your own security certificate to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. To bring your own certificate, you need to configure the resource principal in advance. See Resource Principals.
      • This tenancy: Select a certificate located in the same tenancy.

        Select security certificate: Select a security certificate from the list of certificates available in the selected compartment.

      • Different tenancy: Select a certificate located in a different tenancy.

        Enter a security certificate OCID: Enter the OCID of the security certiticate in the format, ocid[0-9]+.certificate.oc[0-9]+.[region].[0-9a-z]{60}. For example, ocid1+.certificate.oc1.iad.1234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234567890abcdefghijklmn.

  5. Select Save changes.
Updating the security certificate restarts the DB system.
